# Daily Community Snacks

A **snack** is one bite-sized, genuinely interesting post — an insight, fact, observation, or "did you know" — that Nova drops into your Discord server or Telegram group on a schedule. Each snack is grounded in **your community's own recent conversations** plus whichever blockchain ecosystem it lives in (Bitcoin/Stacks, EVM, Solana, and beyond), so it sparks replies instead of reading like a bot broadcast. Members can reply and Nova joins the conversation naturally.

The snack posts into the channel (or Telegram topic) where you enabled it.

## Free vs PRO

| -------------------------------------------- | ---------------------------- | ----------------------------------- |
| Community-grounded snacks                    | ✅                            | ✅                                   |
| Cadence | Every **3 days** (or slower) | **Daily** (or any cadence you like) |
| ✍️ Custom instructions (steer topics & tone) | —                            | ✅                                   |

The free tier keeps the feature real — roughly two snacks a week is enough to feel Nova's presence. [Community PRO](/nova-bot/premium/nova-premium-for-communities.md) unlocks a **daily** snack and lets you **steer** it.

{% hint style="success" %}
**Your settings are never overwritten.** If you configure a daily snack on the free tier, Nova simply posts every 3 days for now — the moment you upgrade, your daily cadence kicks in automatically. *"daily snack status"* always shows both what's configured and what's effectively happening.

## What a snack looks like

Nova rotates through a palette of snack types, biased away from what it used recently:

* **Insight** — a sharp observation connecting dots in what your community has been discussing
* **Did you know** — a specific, verifiable fact about your ecosystem
* **Ecosystem note** — something notable happening in your chain's world right now
* **Mini lesson** — a "here's how this actually works" nugget
* **Spotlight** — a project, tool, or concept worth knowing
* **Stat drop** — one interesting number with just enough context to land

No price predictions, no financial advice — just conversation starters that fit your room.

## Custom instructions *(Community PRO)*

PRO admins can give the snack a standing brief — up to **500 characters** of steering:

> *"@Nova focus the daily snacks on Ordinals and NFT culture, keep the tone playful"*

Instructions steer **topics, tone, and focus only** — they can't change what Nova is, its rules, or the snack's no-financial-advice stance. (Like the [Nova Soul](/nova-bot/nova-ai-agent/community/nova-soul.md) persona, the text is sanitized and fenced so nothing hidden inside it can act as commands.)

## Set It Up — just talk to Nova

(Setup is admin-only, in your server/group — not DMs.) @mention Nova or reply to it:

1. **Turn it on:**
   * *"@Nova turn on daily snacks"* — Nova asks for your preferred time and timezone (or say *"use the default"* for 13:00 UTC).
2. **Pick the schedule:**
   * *"post the snack at 18:00 Europe/Rome, every other day"*
3. **Steer it (PRO):**
   * *"focus the snacks on \<topic>"*
4. **Check / stop:**
   * *"is the daily snack on?"* · *"turn off daily snacks"*

If snacks are already running in another channel, Nova tells you where and asks before moving them.

{% hint style="success" %}
Snacks are the **member-facing** daily touchpoint; the mod-facing daily readout is [Nova Pulse](/nova-bot/nova-ai-agent/community/nova-pulse.md)'s brief. They pair well — one keeps members engaged, the other keeps moderators informed.
